On 24th June 2019 a meeting was held between the AI-NURECC Infopoint Officer and the University of Molise Department of Marine Biology in order to define a plan for marine litter collection activities consistent with the EUSAIR pillar “Environmental quality – Topic 1. Marine Environment”

The University of Molise will be the leader of an action that will see the involvement of the most important stakeholders to address the issue of marine litter management. The hypothesized actions concern the involvement of the navy, in the recovery in the sea and the transport on land of the waste, of the harbor master for the availability of the physical places to be equipped with containers for collection, of the Municipality of Vasto, actually President of the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities, in the management and coordination of the stractures’ adaptation actions and of the environmental associations for the activities of communication, dissemination and information of users and citizenship to the theme of marine litter.
