The 2nd call for Horizontal projects will be open until the 27th of June 2019 with a total budget of around 12.5 Meuro (FERS funds + national co-financing + IPA).
The approved projects will be approximately eight, corresponding to the 8 thematic communities established by the Interreg MED program: three in terms of innovation (blue growth, green growth and social and creative innovation), three in terms of low carbon economy (energy efficiency buildings, renewable energies and sustainable urban transport), one in terms of sustainable tourism and one in terms of protecting biodiversity.
Under this call for proposals, the principle of capitalization involves a very precise content, composed of “transfer”, “mainstreaming” and “strategic link” activities. These fundamental principles represent the identity of the Interreg MED program and are consistent with the promotion of development, good governance and are supported by the European Union’s cohesion policy.
In order to ensure the continuity of the activity, the announcement provides that only the partners that currently participate in the horizontal projects already in progress, can apply for the role of leader, regardless of the thematic community. To ensure a high geographical coverage, the lead partners must include at least one partner from an Interreg MED country not included in the horizontal project approved in the first call for horizontal projects, within the specific objective (or sub-theme for axis 1) considered.
